About the Journal
Definition
The Revista de Investigaciones Altoandinas - Journal of High Andean Research (ISSN 2306-8582; eISSN 2313-2957) is a quarterly scientific journal sponsored by the Vice-Rectorate of Research of the Universidad Nacional del Altiplano in Puno, Peru. Each new issue is freely available online during the first month of the publication period (January, April, July and October of each year). Calls for submissions are open every six months, and proposals can be submitted at any time of the year.
Objective
The objective of the Revista de Investigaciones Altoandinas - Journal of High Andean Research is to disseminate results and advances in scientific research oriented towards the interaction between humans and the environment in the mountain regions of the Andean countries - from the foothills to the summits. The journal publishes preferably multi, inter and transdisciplinary works, dedicated to the promotion of regional development in the Andean area within the framework of the triple helix model: academic sector, productive and/or service sector (civil society) and public sector (government bodies).
The articles published in the Revista de Investigaciones Altoandinas - Journal of High Andean Research must answer the two central questions:
- In what sense does the research relate to the Andean mountain areas defined by Kapos et al. 2000?
- How does the research take into account the socio-cultural context and its relationship with the mountain environment, promoting biological and cultural diversity and contributing to the sustainable management of biocultural resources?
Therefore, the journal privileges manuscripts that take into account the interconnection between the Andean physical-natural and socio-cultural context.
