Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The text adheres to the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

  • The manuscript strictly complies with the code of ethics of the journal.

  • Applied the checklist form to the manuscript (self-evaluation) and answered at least 80% of the questions.

Editorial

Article written by the editor, a member of the editorial board or a guest researcher (guest editor) on orientations in the thematic domain of the journal or of public interest in methodological or scientific theories, and/or topics for debate and action socio-political, academic science and technology.And / or topics for debate and action socio-political, academic science and technology.
The article should not exceed 2000 words and should have a minimum of 5 cited references.

Letters to the Editor

Section open to all readers of the Revista de Investigaciones Altoandinas who send contributions that complement or discuss critical, analytical or interpretive positions, documents published in the Journal, which in the opinion of the Editorial Committee constitute an important contribution to the discussion of the subject by part of the scientific community of reference. The letters should develop, without dividing into sections, the statement of the problem, its discussion and the conclusion with its recommendation.
The article does not have to exceed 1000 words.
It must have a maximum of 1 between tables and figures and a minimum number of 8 cited bibliographic references. as an annex to the article write the summary in 100 words that is counted from the total

Original articles

The article should be the result of research and address a topic relevant to the journal with solidity, originality and timeliness. It should include the following sections: abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion and bibliographical references. The abstract should not exceed 250 words, and the body of the article should be at least 5000 words, excluding references. Up to six elements between tables and figures are allowed, and at least 25 bibliographical references are required.

Short article

It is the product of a research that presents preliminary or partial original results of a scientific or technological study, which usually requires a prompt diffusion. It has the following structure: abstract, key words, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion and bibliographic references.
The abstract should not exceed 150 words and the article 3000 words.
It should have a maximum of 4 between tables and figures, and a minimum number of 15 bibliographic references cited.

Case report

The case reports are the result of a local study that limits itself to describing in detail a natural event or result of human interventions of special and particular interest to a locality. It has the following structure: abstract, key words, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, bibliographic references.
The abstract should not exceed 150 words and the article 3000 words.
It should have a maximum of 5 between tables and figures, and a minimum number of 15 bibliographic references cited.

Review article

The reviews will be made by experts in the field. In general, the Editorial Board of the Journal of High Andean Research invites contributions. They should include a thorough, objective and systematized exploration of current information on a given topic of interest (where the results of published or unpublished research on a field in science or technology are analyzed, systematized and integrated in order to account for advances and development trends). It has the following structure: abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions and bibliographic references.
The abstract should not exceed 250 words and the article 5500 words.
It should have a maximum of 5 between tables and figures, and a minimum number of 60 bibliographic references cited.

Symposium


Symposia are a set of structured articles on a topic approved by the Editorial Committee of the Altoandinas Investigations Journal and commissioned by an invited researcher. Theme and orientation of the articles will be coordinated with the guest editor for the issue. It has the following structure: abstract, keywords, body of the article and bibliographic references.
The abstract must not exceed 250 words and the article must not exceed 5500 words.
It must have a maximum of 4 between tables and figures, and a minimum number of 25 cited bibliographic references.
