Review system
For the review of articles, the Revista de Investigaciones Altoandinas – Journal of High Andean Research adopts the double-blinded peer review method. After receiving the article, the members of the Editorial Committee carry out a first reading with the aim of guaranteeing the congruence and interest with respect to the policies of the Journal, as well as the fulfillment of the editorial standards required by it. In the event that one of the two aspects is not respected, the Editorial Committee returns the article to the author, informing him/her of the need for changes or the non-acceptance of the proposal. In the case that the Editorial Board considers the article relevant, it identifies a minimum of two reviewers specialized in the subject, in the geographical, linguistic and disciplinary area of the proposal received. After hearing the availability of the reviewers, the Editorial Board sends the anonymous proposal, asking the reviewers to return the article with their comments within a month. If the article is accepted, the author is asked to return the article corrected according to the reviewers' indications within two weeks of the date of receipt of the comments. If the article is accepted by one of the two reviewers, but the other does not consider it publishable, a third reviewer with the above characteristics is contacted. The entire process of receiving, reviewing, and returning contributions can take from one to six months. The acceptance of the proposal does not oblige the Editorial Committee to publish the article in the next available issue.
